Holiday Home Stretch! Make this week easier with our quick go-to meal suggestions

Oh my gosh, it has been a busy month! Every weekend, since Thanksgiving, I have traveled to several cities for my children’s sports competitions. This isn’t just us competing on travel sport teams, it’s also the demands of the twins’ High School sport. Oftentimes, I am in one city with a couple kids and my hubs is in another city with the other two.  So to say it’s been hectic is an understatement. Between tournaments for the High Schoolers, a dance recital, and travel tournaments for my middle child, we somehow crammed in a few family Christmas traditions too. Watching a Christmas movie, listening to the Book of Luke (a chapter a day is the goal), building our gingerbread house, and cookie baking day. But according to my children we have fallen short on many traditions, so something tells me these couple days leading up to Christmas and the days after, will be filled with our traditions and hopefully lots and lots of laziness!! I can’t wait! So here’s the problem…I don’t want to plan meals and cook all week. I need a break too. Plus, with three pubescent teen boys at home all day, my refrigerator and pantry will have revolving doors, someone is always eating and there never seems to be enough.

As I write this, I ponder what I am going to cook and what I will have available for my kids. The meals I plan to cook will be simple, good for you, and easy. The pantry and fridge will be filled with some quick, go-to meals and snacks that my kids can make, or I can throw together. Want in on my plans? I do most of my shopping at Costco, so many of these finds you can snatch up there. The grocery store should have these same brands too in smaller portions. I hope you find these options to be a healthy and easy for you and your children. It is my Christmas wish that aside from you and your family having a very Merry Christmas; you will have the gift of peace and a well-deserved break from all the hustle and bustle, all while feeding your children meals that are easy and nutritious! Merry Christmas!

These are the foods I tend to keep on hand for those quick meals, or in my boy’s cases, a lunch or snack! All meat is usually accompanied by fresh veggies and NK approved chips or crackers.
