As I prepare to bring this first blog to you, I am reminded that this is so much bigger than my passion for nutrition, or my sister's motivation for entrepreneurship, this is God’s will. He put this mission on Cherice’s heart, and we both jumped at the opportunity, our two desires merging into one beautiful mission, Nourished Knights!
It is our mission to help arm your children with the weapons and armor necessary to win the battle for health, and it starts with the foods they eat. Every food that a child eats is affecting their body; their body either becomes weaker or stronger. This is a big battle but armed with the knowledge of what’s best for your kids, we can help them win the fight for health.
We are children from the '80s so we get it, we grew up with all these foods too. We ate TV frozen dinners on babysitting nights, Mac N' Cheese with hot dogs, Cheetos, Teddy Grahams, and Fruit Loops too. We ate it and we’re fine (or are we?), so what’s the big deal?
That is exactly what we hope to share with you...why now it is a big deal, how today’s food has changed and how we can help arm our children to fight the battle for health. There are some very scary statistics regarding the health of our nation's children recently emerging. Young adult cancers are up 79% in the last ten years. One in thirty-six children have Autism, and 50% of teens are obese or overweight.* These statistics are scary. As a parent we can acknowledge something is not right, children should not be battling these health issues. But where do we start? It can be so overwhelming with conflicting opinions emerging each day.
Our Nourished Knights promise to you; that we will do our very best to help prepare you to teach your children how to make the best choices for them. We will arm you with the tools to teach your children and help them to make the healthiest choices for themselves. As mothers of seven children ranging in ages 15 years to 1 year old, we have many tricks of the trade, tried-and-true healthy weapons that kids actually like, and plenty of information to bring to you so that you are armed and confident to take on this battle.
With much love and passion for the future health of our children,
